Salomon Helmet Remove

Rofelewand (Kaunergrat)

After we had last December on the Renk-hut ski tour and from there the panorama of the wild Kaunergrat admired, the search went skiing los. One of the objectives was found Rofelewand. So far I only knew the Pitztal mainly from ice climbing, ski tours but - apart from the valley - it was time to test ...
Despite the recent warm days, I could start running from the bottom of the ski on the forest road to Arzler Alm.
Had it not today until the afternoon should be sunny? But hats but quite a lot of dark clouds. Continue to wait times and ... Shortly before
depot expands the panorama. Verpeilspitze? Anything rocky ...
From the depot from one climbs to the distinctive, rock left rib and the Südrinne goes approx 150hm on the summit ridge. Surprisingly, only slightly more rapidly over the ridge to the summit. Kind of funny that I now stand up here with my skis - from the bottom of the mountain looks not look after ...
top down view of the Pitztal.
Granted, some motivated wars have to carry your skis up here. But 50hm more I could have put it on and leave Südrinne :-)
As on the previous day on the green I was stone-day turn again too soon. Today I found a blow dryer but despite the calm, sunny place, so I waited almost 1.5 hours in the sun for better exit conditions. It was worth it :-) Firn, powder, Firn - and on the forest road Tieffirn. But since it had already carried it in your breakfast ...

look back over the Totenkarferner the summit (right).
And iss se, the Rofelewand.
below were then first things after the final departure Tieffirn-dried. And stilled the hunger.
Facts
Rofelewand (2000hm)
Ötztal Alps / Kaunergrat

Ingenious ski mountain that looks first not after. From the cabin super ski area and only the last few meters of the glacier to the south in storage depot and the Südrinne are steeper (35 ° -45 °).
disadvantage: one must be early, since almost everything is exposed south or east side. Alternatively you can pay the mountain in January / February a visit.
